Turning Roundtables
Into Institutional Commitments in African States

About APLAFF

The Africa Policy, Law & Finance Forum (APLAFF) is founded on the conviction that Africa’s long-term development depends not only on capital, resources, or growth, but on the strength and reliability of the Rule of Law, Justice, and the Institutions that govern how that capital, those resources, and that growth are managed. Hence, Law, Public Policy, and Financial Governance are not separate technical domains — rather, they are interdependent components of a single system, one that either earns public trust or erodes it.

The Africa Policy, Law & Finance Forum (APLAFF) was founded to empower and promote Sustainable Development Goal 16; peace, justice and strong institutions.

APLAFF’s first flagship convening, the Cameroon High-Level Anti-Corruption Roundtable (16–17 October 2026, Buea Mountain Hotel), is a testament that we are committed to our mission, vision and objectives.

OUR MISSION

APLAFF’s mission is to empower and promote Sustainable Development Goal 16; peace, justice and strong institutions for African States.

We seek to promote peaceful and inclusive societies, ensure access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at every level by convening, connecting, and supporting stake holders of international law, influencing the discourse and narrative around public policy, and financial governance.

Our mission is to see a African states emerging from all vices that maintain them below the expectations of the UNSDG16 by 2030.

OUR VISION

An Africa where the rule of law is fully trusted and reliably upheld, where public policy is designed with integrity from the outset, and where financial governance operates with the transparency and accountability needed to give every citizen and institution confidence in how public resources and public power are exercised.

OUR AGENDA

  • Bring alive dormant units of anti-corruption in institutions, organizations, companies, schools, to enable the implementation of our shared practical based roundtable resolutions.
  • Strengthen judicial independence — supporting reforms that insulate courts from political interference and expand access to justice for underserved communities.
  • Advance fiscal transparency — working with governments and institutions to close gaps in public financial management and accountability.
  • Build cross-border coalitions — connecting legal, policy, and finance leaders across African nations to share tools, standards, and strategy
  • Convene Africa’s integrity leaders — hosting forums and working groups that turn shared commitment into coordinated policy change.
